I’m a thirty-something recreational runner by day and journalist by night. (I work a night shift!)
I started seriously running about 5 years ago after a break up. I ran the same 4 mile loop by my house for a good several months before I got up the nerve to register for my first big race, the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler. After that race, I was hooked and signed up for my first marathon in the fall of 2011. Crossing that finish line was nothing short of magical and I couldn’t wait to do it again. I’ve been running ever since!
I’m currently a member of Oiselle’s Volée , an amazing team of professional and amateur runners who inspire and encourage one another. (We also look super fly in our Oiselle duds while running our butts off.) My flock mates in the DC area are amazing. We frequently get together & they are some of the most amazing ladies I’ve ever met. I also was lucky enough to spend a few days in June 2015 at the first ever #SouthernBirdCamp with some of my fellow Oiselle birds at ZAP Fitness in Blowing Rock, North Carolina.
Besides running I love: my amazing finace (who also loves running), cooking, knitting, spending time outdoors, my handsome terrier (Finn), the Outer Banks of North Carolina, reading, tacos, Alfred Hitchcock movies and cheering on my alma mater Sewanee, in all things!
